New Lenses LP from Soft Metals streaming in full
The debut release from Soft Metals, The Cold World Melts CT-69 was my first introduction to Captured Tracks, now one of my favorite labels for both artists and vinyl release quality (the special edition of the new Wild Nothing EP is fucking amazing, snap bracelets dude, snap bracelets…). I picked up that EP nothing barely anything about the label or Soft Metals at the time, because I was intrigued by the cover art (^^^) and the description. This EP remains one of my favorites, and while I enjoyed their first full length last year, I found that I just wasn’t revisiting it nearly as often as the EP.
Well I’m only first listen in here, but I can say I’m greatly impressed with their sophomore release. Whatever the spice that was missing last release for me, they’re found again tenfold. The record comes out July 16th, and it seems CT has sneaked a full album stream online just within the last 24hrs. No pre-orders up yet on the CT store, but I’ll be watching it like a hawk and keeping you up to date.

Enjoy “Cementerio del Este" (Cemetery of the East). It’s from the CD, Será.
It’s available to you as a free download via Today’s Top Tune, a routine delivery of free downloads, provided by KCRW’s music department.
Be on the lookout for this band at LAMC!
Would not be surprised if dude turns out to be our generation’s Sade. Pure talent.
